Some journeys begin with just one bite. Ours started with an açaí bowl on a trip to Australia—a simple order that changed everything.
Rishav had been enjoying açaí bowls for years while living in Dubai, but during a recent trip with his long-time friend Akash, he ordered one at a café in Sydney. Akash took a bite, loved the taste, and realised something surprising: food this delicious, fresh, and nourishing wasn’t easily available back home in India.
Friends for over 15 years- meeting first at IIT Kharagpur followed by MBA at IIM Bangalore, Rishav and Akash had always shared a passion for building something meaningful. Leaving behind their high-paying careers as management consultants, they chose to pursue a purpose instead: bringing açaí, with all its flavour, freshness, and natural goodness, to India. This moment in Sydney became the spark. If açaí could be such a perfect blend of flavour, quality, and health, why shouldn’t India have access to it too?
That question became Açaí Theory.
